I wonder
how many people truly enjoy home visits during CNY.
I can’t say it is all bad but making conversations with hordes of relativesĀ is a truly exhausting affair. I am feeling utterly drained and badly in need of sleep. I need some quiet time to recharge myself. I have a sudden yearning to pop into a movie theatre to get some quiet time on my own. But, the movie theatres are probably bursting with crowds.
Tomorrow is another long day. Thankfully, they are mostly gatherings with friends. Should be alot more fun. Monday is a long day at work. I am looking forward to Tuesday when I can get my moments of personal space. The hermit crab in me is coming out again.

Happy Chinese NewYear!! How do you normally celebrate it?
Thank you Astrid. We celebrated CNY with lots of food and gatherings with relatives and friends. We played games like bingo and black jacks together. It is customary for younger people to greet the elders with mandarin oranges and well wishes. The kids and singles get gifts of red packets from all the married people. Red packets are just a token gift of money placed in a red envelope.
