When I was about 9 or 10, I remembered my music teacher teaching us a song titled “Music alone shall live”. Not sure why I remember this. Probably because the title alone was bizzare to me at that tender age but started to make more sense to me throughout the years.

All it takes is just a familiar song to bring back memories of some poignant moments or a particular phrase of my life. Different songs trigger memories of different phrase of life, different people in my life. I remember songs from childhood and schooldays. I remember songs I performed to or associated with different friends and family member. Songs that I love for no particular reason which brings back memory of that phrase of life. I remember songs from weddings and funerals, even. Songs from movies and shows. It never fails to amaze me what I can remember from just listening to a song. These songs linger on in our mind like theme songs of our life story. A trigger to our long forgotten memories.

This song reminds me of primary school days. We performed this song during a Teacher’s day concert. It reminds me of my cousin who helped us choreograph our dance move. I remember feeling very proud of him. I remember rehearsals. Practicing and refining, again and again. I remember how thrilled we were to be one of the selected team. So thrilled that we celebrated with a water fight, running crazily all over school and chasing the guys into the gents. That was extremely fun!

After all these years, this is still one of the most inspiring songs I like. Sharing this with whoever is reading this. Do share a song if you like.
