Lyrics:
Some people laugh
Some people cry
Some people live
Some people die
Some people run
Right into the fire
Some people hide
Their every desire
But we are the lovers
If you don’t believe me
Then just look into my eyes
’cause the heart never lies
Some people fight
Some people fall
Others pretend
They don’t care at all
If you want to fight
I’ll stand right beside you
The day that you fall
I’ll be right behind you
To pick up the pieces
If you don’t believe me
Just look into my eyes
’cause the heart never lies
Whoa x2
Another year over
And we’re still together
It’s not always easy
But I’m here forever
We are the lovers
I know you believe me
When you look into my eyes
Because the heart never lies
But we are the lovers
I know you believe me
When you look into my eyes
Because the heart never lies
Whoa x2
Another year over
And we’re still together
It’s not always easy
But I’m here forever
Yeah we are the lovers
I know you believe me
When you look into my eyes
Because the heart never lies
’cause the heart never lies
Because the heart never lies
Today is the mailing deadline for the Postcard Swap (Love edition). Been too busy amid all the spring cleaning and hordes of activities to do make 10 different postcards.
So, I have decided to keep things simple. A photoshop(ed) shot I had taken recently at a wedding and lyrics from one of my favorite songs.
Love Me by Raye Collin
I read a note my Grandma wrote back in 1923
Grandpa kept it in his coat and he showed it once to me
He said, Boy, you might not understand but a long long time ago
Grandma’s daddy didn’t like me none but I loved your Grandma so
We had this crazy plan to meet and run away together
Get married in the first town we came to and live forever
But nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet instead
I found this letter and this is what it said
If you get there bef0re I do, don’t give up on me
I’ll meet you when my chores are through
I don’t know how long I’ll be
But I’am not gonna let you down
Darlin’ wait and see
And between now and then
Till I see you again
I’ll be loving you
Love me
I read these words just hours before my Grandma passed away
In the doorway of a church where me and Grandpa stopped to pray
I know I’d never seen him cry in all my fifteen years
But as he said these words to her his eyes filled up with tears
If you get there before I do
Don’t give up on me
I’ll meet you when my chores are through
I don’t know how long I”ll be
But I’m not gonna let you down
Darlin’ wait and see
And between now and then till I see you again
I’ll be loving you
Love me

I came across this song on Poppy Fields’ blog recently. Nice and catchy. I find myself humming to its tune repeatedly. Like the MV too.

I have listened to this song countless times for the past few days. Both the Eagles version and Susan Wong version. Susan Wong’s version is great for plugging in moments before slumber. Just closed my eyes and lost myself in the song.
This cracks me up.
My new year’s resolutions for 2008 are really straightforward. I want to feel more settled, eat and sleep healthily. Translating into the list below.
1. I want to switch job really really soon. A middle support function role.
A fixed salary job. I can live with the pay cut.
A desk bound one. No more rushing around for clients’ appointment, skipping meals, lugging my laptop and documents, in my jacket suits, in the rain or sweltering heat. No more clients’ meetings or calls at all hours of the day. Like 9am on 1 of Jan.
This means more resumes sending. Just sent out a batch. More to send on Saturday.
2. Savings
I want to put 20% of my salary into a regular investments plan of unit trust funds.
3. CFA
After the tedious job search, I have decided that CFA shall take precedence over my psychology course. Once, I settled down in my job. I am targeting to take the first module in the last quarter.
4. Eat three proper meals a day.
5. Re-adjust my sleep cycle and sleep 7 hours a day.
6. Drink 8 glasses of water a day. This means I need to start bringing my water bottle wherever I go.
8. Cut down on caffeine. For a start, sticking to three coffees/teas per week.
9. Oh yes, it’s time to do a comprehensive health screening.
10. And yes, find a man I can settle down with. Not getting young anymore. Baby making capability may be already slowing down. Sounds so familiar. This is what everyone all around has been telling me. First thing is to attend your wedding and let go.

One tune, single hand, three fingers playing. Your super smug expression. While tinkering with Y’s piano.
